Letter to Mr. Hans
Sohlstrom, President , Grand European Tours -… As Croatian
born interested travelers, we were impressed with this tour,
even though we have been to all the places described in your
magazine….There is one bothersome place, that we would recommend
that you select some other more interesting place instead
of “this optional excursion visits the quaint village
of Kumrovec, now a living museum and birthplace of Tito, the
late Yugoslav President.”….The cruel dictator Tito
is the very reason why Croatians were oppressed and why so
many were forced to leave their beautiful country in search
of freedom and livelihood……..

Dear Mr. Sohlstrom,
As interested
travelers, we are looking at some wonderful tours offered through
the Grand European Tours 2006 and immediately we looked at the Grand
Tour of Croatia and Slovenia, introduced as one of the 11 new Tours
for 2006.
On pages 70
and 71 you are describing in detail the Grand Tour of Croatia and
Slovenia. As Croatian born interested travelers, we were impressed
with this tour, even though we have been to all the places described
in your magazine.
There is one
bothersome place, that we would recommend that you select some other
more interesting place instead of “this optional excursion
visits the quaint village of Kumrovec, now a living museum and birthplace
of Tito, the late Yugoslav President.”
We are sure
that most of your clients to Croatia will be of Croatian descent
or friends of ours that we have been telling all about the beauty
of Croatia and its friendly people.
The cruel dictator
Tito is the very reason why Croatians were oppressed and why so
many were forced to leave their beautiful country in search of freedom
and livelihood.
The Bleiburg
Tragedy, which is yet to be told to the world, will reveal that
Tito was the biggest mass murderer of Croatians in its entire history
and the free world should not be involved in glorifying such a man.
We do realize,
however, that Kumrovec was most likely recommended to you by the
present ruling class which was in power during the communist regime
and they have merely turned their hats around and have called themselves
“democrats.”
Mr. Sohlstrom,
please do take the time to talk to some Croatian émigrés
and you will be convinced that Tito was no different than Stalin
or Hitler.
Respectfully,

Mark G. Spiranovich and Ljubo Kresic
